Development of digital interoperability between rail operators and customs authorities to support seamless cross-border trade along international rail corridors.

Scope
InfraEconomy Group designed a multi-stakeholder data integration framework for international rail corridors, covering technical architecture, data exchange processes, and an enabling policy and governance roadmap. The work aligned operational rail requirements with customs procedures to support end-to-end digital trade facilitation.

Impact
The World Customs Organization selected the project as a pilot initiative. ESCAP member countries adopted the recommendations as a basis for regional implementation of rail–customs electronic data interchange.
